Food in Gothenburg: Michelin, seafood, street food and fika

West coast shellfish, Michelin stars, world-class street food and cinnamon buns the size of a plate. This is Picolo’s guide to food in Gothenburg, all in one place, plus the hotels for a foodie weekend.

Gothenburg is one of the most underrated food cities in the Nordics. It sits on one of the world’s richest coasts for shellfish, has several Michelin-starred restaurants and a street food scene that surprises even seasoned travellers. And then there is fika: coffee and cinnamon buns, ideally in an old wooden-house neighbourhood.

This page brings together Picolo’s guides to food in Gothenburg, and the hotels within walking distance of dinner.
