Film and TV locations you can visit: travel to where your favourite stories were filmed

Many of the films and series we watch were shot in places you can visit yourself. We have gathered our filming location guides here, with one hotel per place to make planning easy.

In short: the filming locations

• Mamma Mia: Skopelos and Skiathos in Greece, and Vis in Croatia for the sequel.

• The White Lotus: Luxury hotels in Hawaii, Sicily, Thailand and on the French Riviera.

• Drops of God: The vineyards of France, Paris and Tbilisi.

• The Last of Us: Alberta in Canada for season 1, and British Columbia for seasons 2 and 3.

• Barbie: A studio outside London and Venice Beach in Los Angeles.

Mamma Mia: Skopelos

The Agios Ioannis chapel on its rock and Skopelos harbour town are the best-known locations from the first film. Adrina Resort & Spa sits on Panormos bay on the west of the island.

Mamma Mia 2: Vis

The sequel was filmed on the island of Vis in Croatia, far out in the Adriatic. Hotel San Giorgio is a small hotel in the old part of Vis town, a short walk from the harbour.

The White Lotus: every season

Every season was filmed at a real luxury hotel, from the Four Seasons on Maui to Hôtel Martinez in Cannes for season 4.

Drops of God: wine, Paris and Tbilisi

The series follows the wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Paris and Georgia. In Paris, the historic Lutetia on the Left Bank is the natural choice.

The Last of Us: Alberta and British Columbia

Season 1 was filmed in Calgary, Edmonton and the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. Fairmont Banff Springs is the castle hotel in the middle of Banff National Park.

Barbie: London and Los Angeles

Most of Barbie was shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden outside London, while the beach scenes come from Venice Beach. Shutters on the Beach sits right on the sand in Santa Monica.
