What Picolo would choose

What Picolo would choose: The Westbury for most people, Brooks Hotel to be closest to the Dublin Castle countdown, and The Merrion for a calmer New Year with a spa.

Why: The Westbury is one minute from Grafton Street and eight from the Castle. Brooks is six minutes from the Castle and scores 9.4 out of 10. The Merrion scores 9.8 and has an indoor pool for New Year's Day. The trade-off: The Morgan puts you in Temple Bar, which is lively on New Year's Eve, but noisy if you want an early night on 1 January.
