Tuvana Hotel
Step through a heavy wooden door in the old town and you are in a green courtyard, with a pool under the trees and the lanes left outside.
Kaleiçi is the walled old town of Antalya, a knot of lanes running down to the Roman harbour. Tuvana is a cluster of Ottoman houses here, brought back to life and turned inwards to a shared courtyard with a pool and trees for shade.
Inside, the rooms keep the character of the old buildings: timber floors, solid doors and period details. Dinner is served in the garden, and it is one of the meals in the old town worth planning an evening around.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Tuvana Hotel
We picked Tuvana for its sense of place. You sleep inside the old town rather than visiting it, in a small hotel where the buildings themselves are the design. It suits couples who like character over scale.
There is no beach here. You walk down to the harbour and take a boat or a taxi to the sand, so if long days by the sea are the main plan, a resort outside the city will serve you better.
What you get
- Pool in the shaded courtyard
- Restaurant in the garden
