The Peninsula Bangkok
A fan-shaped tower on the west bank, angled so that nearly every window frames the river and the skyline across it.
Draw the curtains in the morning and the Chao Phraya is already busy below, with the towers of the east bank rising behind it. The fan-shaped design means almost every room gets this view.
The Peninsula stands on the Thonburi side, which is calmer than the opposite bank. Its own boat shuttles guests across throughout the day, to a Skytrain connection and to Mandarin Oriental.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Peninsula Bangkok
Our family choice. Rooms are generous, the garden pool is big enough for children to swim properly, and the quieter bank makes evenings easier. The night view across the water is hard to beat.
Everything starts with a boat ride. The shuttle is frequent, but if you want to step out of the lobby into the city, a hotel on the east bank will suit you better.

Which side of the river is The Peninsula Bangkok on?
It is on the west bank, in Thonburi. The hotel boat links it to the east bank, where you find the Skytrain and most of the city centre.
Is The Peninsula Bangkok good for families?
Yes. The rooms are large, the garden pool suits children, and the calmer riverbank means quieter evenings than in the centre.
Do the rooms at The Peninsula Bangkok have river views?
Nearly all of them do, because the tower is built in a fan shape facing the water.
