Six Senses Zighy Bay

  • Pool villas
  • Beach
  • Mountains
  • Honeymoon
  • Remote

A remote cove walled in by bare mountains, where you can arrive by paraglider and sleep in a stone villa with its own pool.

The road drops over a rocky ridge, and suddenly the whole bay lies below you: a strip of sand, calm water and low villas of stone and timber. Most of the villas have a private pool, and the mountains rise straight up behind them.

Musandam is the northern tip of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates. Getting here is part of the story: by car over the mountain, or for the bold, gliding down from the summit.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Six Senses Zighy Bay

This is our romantic choice in Oman, made for a honeymoon or a big anniversary. Privacy, the drama of the setting and your own pool mean you will rarely want to leave the bay.

It is very expensive and very isolated, roughly two hours by road from Dubai. If you want to explore Oman, eat out or move around, this is the wrong base: it is a place to stop, not to tour from.

What you get

  • Private pool in most villas
  • Beach in a sheltered cove
  • Six Senses spa
  • Mountain and sea views
  • Calm water for swimming in the bay
