Ca' Maria Adele
From a small terrace you see the marble flank of the Salute church up close, while the Grand Canal opens into the lagoon just beyond.
Step onto the terrace and the white marble of Santa Maria della Salute fills one side of the view. This is the far end of Dorsoduro, the point where the Grand Canal meets the open lagoon, and very few visitors walk this far.
The hotel has only a handful of rooms, each dressed differently in deep damask, Murano glass and soft lamplight. To reach St Mark's, take the traghetto, a gondola ferry that crosses the canal in a couple of minutes.

Why we chose Ca' Maria Adele
This is our choice for a romantic trip. It is small, it is intimate, and it stays quiet even when the rest of Venice is full, which is rare this close to the big sights.
There is no restaurant or bar to linger in, and the dark, theatrical rooms are not to everyone's taste. Families and anyone who likes the facilities of a larger hotel should look elsewhere.
