Picolo recommends · Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia
The St. Regis Bali Resort
Children can spend all day in a lagoon with a sandy floor, while the reef keeps the sea outside flat and calm.
The water in the lagoon is shallow and sandy underfoot, and it winds through the gardens towards the beach. Out at sea, the reef off Nusa Dua takes the force out of the waves, so the shoreline here is calm in a way much of Bali is not.
There is a kids’ club for when the children need other company, and villas with their own pools for families who want room to spread out and somewhere quiet for the midday nap.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The St. Regis Bali Resort
This is our family pick. Safe swimming, lots of space and service that runs smoothly take most of the stress out of a holiday with children.
Nusa Dua is a closed-off resort enclave with very little local life. To see temples, rice terraces or Ubud, you will need to set aside time for long drives.

Open in MapsQuestions about The St. Regis Bali Resort
Is the sea calm at The St. Regis Bali Resort?
Yes, usually. The reef off Nusa Dua breaks the waves, so the beach is gentler than on Bali’s west coast.
Does The St. Regis Bali Resort have a kids’ club?
Yes. There is a kids’ club, as well as the lagoon pool with a sandy bottom that children tend to love.
Is there much to do outside The St. Regis Bali Resort?
Not much on foot. Nusa Dua is a closed resort area, so most excursions, from temples to rice terraces, mean a drive.
