Akrotiri Beach Hotel
A simple, classic hotel on the cliffs at Paleokastritsa, where the view over the coves and the evening sun do most of the work.
Late in the day the sun drops towards the sea on Corfu’s west coast, and from the hotel you look straight down into clear water in one of Paleokastritsa’s coves. There is a place to swim just beneath the cliffs.
The rooms are plain, and nobody comes here for the interiors. Paleokastritsa is known for its string of bays and the monastery on the hill above them, and the hotel puts you right among it, a long way from the busier east coast.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Akrotiri Beach Hotel
We chose it for the view and the quiet. It suits couples and older travellers who want the west coast at its most dramatic, with sunsets over the water and a calm, old-fashioned hotel to come back to.
Corfu Town is a long drive away, and getting around without a car is hard work. If you want modern rooms or lively evenings, you will be happier elsewhere on the island.
