Picolo recommends · Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus
Amara
Marble underfoot, timber and glass all around, and the Mediterranean filling the window of nearly every room.
Open the curtains and the sea is there. Amara was built so that almost every room faces the water, and the lines are clean and bright, with marble, wood and large windows doing the work instead of decoration.
It is one of the newest luxury addresses on the Limassol coast and feels a little like a city hotel that happens to have a beach. That suits the town itself, which mixes a busy marina and old quarter with a long stretch of shoreline.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Amara
We chose Amara as the design hotel on Cyprus. The architecture is calm and confident, the views are constant, and it gives couples a sense of occasion without the heavy ornament of older resorts.
The mood is adult and a touch formal. Families with toddlers will find more to do at Parklane, and if you prefer barefoot and casual, the polished style here may feel more stiff than relaxing.
What you get
- Sea views from nearly every room
- Rooms in marble, wood and glass
- Beach in front of the hotel

- Restaurants in the hotel
A day at Amara

- Evening
- Dinner in the hotel as the lights come on along the coast.
