Almyra
Pale rooms, pools stepping down through the garden to the sea, and the fishing harbour of Paphos a few minutes away on foot.
Morning in Paphos starts at the water here. The gardens of Almyra slope down to the shoreline, with pools set among the lawns, and the rooms are kept light and uncluttered, more contemporary than most of the big hotels along this coast.
Walk along the seafront and you reach the harbour and the small medieval fort that guards it. Beyond them lie the Roman mosaics of the archaeological park, among the finest on the island, so the town and its history sit right on your doorstep.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Almyra
We chose Almyra because it gives you two holidays at once. You get the gardens, pools and ease of a resort, yet dinner in town and the mosaics are an evening walk away. Families and couples both fit in comfortably.
Do not expect sand. The sea in front of the hotel meets a rocky shore, so most swimming takes place in the pools. If a long sandy beach is the point of your trip, look further east towards Ayia Napa.

Yes. Follow the seafront path and you are at the harbour and the fort in a few minutes, with restaurants along the way.
Does Almyra have a sandy beach?
No. The shore in front is rocky, so guests mainly swim in the pools in the garden, which reach almost to the water.
Is Almyra good for families?
It works well for families, with space in the gardens and pools, and it is just as comfortable for couples who want something modern.
