Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa
Swim indoors behind glass while cloud drifts over the mountains outside, then walk down into the rice terraces after breakfast.
Sapa sits high in the mountains of northern Vietnam, and Silk Path Grand gives you a comfortable base from which to see it. The buildings take their style from French hill stations, and the indoor pool looks out through tall glass towards the peaks.
Trails lead from town into the terraced valleys and the villages below. The cable car to Fansipan, the highest summit in Indochina, starts nearby for days when you would rather ride than walk.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa
We chose it because Sapa is worth more than a rushed day trip, and this hotel makes a few nights in the mountains easy. Come for the walking and the terraces.
Mountain weather rules here. Winter brings cold and thick fog that can hide the view for days, and the town itself has grown busy with new building.
