Azerai La Residence Hue
Curved 1930s lines, a long pool in the garden and the Perfume River sliding past the lawn: Hue's former governor's residence, now a hotel.
In the morning the Perfume River is still and pale, and from the lawn at La Residence you watch the first boats head upstream. The main house was built in the 1930s for the French governor, and its art deco lines are still the heart of the hotel.
A long pool runs through the garden. The walled Imperial City is across the river, close enough to reach by bicycle or by cyclo, the three-wheeled pedal taxi you find all over Hue.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Azerai La Residence Hue
Hue is too often squeezed into a day trip from Hoi An. This hotel gives you a reason to stay, with calm evenings by the river and the citadel within easy reach.
Hue is quieter than Hoi An, with fewer bars and less going on after dark. If you want nightlife, keep this to a couple of nights.
What you get
