Bellagio
Pull back the curtains in a fountain-view room and the water show at Bellagio plays out on the lake right below you.
The fountains go off over the lake out front, and if your room faces the Strip you have the show to yourself without joining the crowd on the pavement. Inside, the lobby ceiling is a canopy of hand-blown glass flowers in bright colours.
Past the lobby is a conservatory that the gardeners dress again for each season. Bellagio is a big, grown-up resort in the middle of everything, and the restaurants under its roof are among the strongest on the Strip.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Bellagio
If this is your first time in Vegas, Bellagio is the address that feels most like the city you have seen in films. It is elegant without asking you to dress up, and you can walk to most of the Center Strip.
Only the rooms that face the fountains deliver the view, so book that category or you may look at car parks and hills. It is a very large hotel, and Friday check-in can mean a long wait.
What you get
- Lake with the famous fountain show
- Conservatory garden replanted each season
- Several of the city’s leading restaurants
- Large outdoor pool area
- Classic big-resort service
A day at Bellagio
- Morning
- Coffee and a walk through the conservatory before the tour groups arrive.
- Midday
- A long lunch at one of the hotel’s restaurants, out of the desert sun.
- Afternoon
- Pool time, then a stroll over to The Cosmopolitan next door.
- Evening
- Dinner, then the fountains from your window or from the lakeside railing.

Yes, if you book a fountain-view room. These rooms face the lake and the Strip, while standard rooms on other sides overlook garages or the hills behind the hotel.
Is Bellagio a good choice for a first trip to Las Vegas?
It is one of the most central and classic options, with the fountains, good restaurants and much of the Center Strip within walking distance.
