Pier House Resort and Spa
One of very few hotels in the centre of Key West with sand of its own, at the bottom of Duval Street.
Most hotels in Old Town Key West have no beach at all. Pier House is the exception: a sheltered strip of sand, a pool and a pier on a large site at the very end of Duval Street.
The buildings were added over the years, so rooms range from older to recently updated. Book one that looks onto the water, and you get the view without losing the walk into town.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Pier House Resort and Spa
If you want to swim from the beach in the morning and eat on Duval in the evening without a taxi in between, Pier House is the one that does both.
Room quality varies between the buildings. Pay a little more for a water view rather than gambling on the cheapest category.
