voco Sandpiper

  • All-inclusive
  • River views
  • Two pools
  • Three restaurants
  • Former Club Med

A riverside resort where the pool looks over the St. Lucie River and dinner, drinks and the children’s day are covered by one rate.

Here you wake up to a river, not the sea. From the pool deck you look across the St. Lucie River while the resort slowly comes to life, and the question of where to eat tonight has already been answered, because it is all in the price.

Plenty of guests remember the place as Club Med Sandpiper Bay. IHG has since taken over under its voco name, but the format survives, with pools, restaurants and bars all inside the grounds. Miami and Orlando are each a couple of hours away by car.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose voco Sandpiper

We chose it because it is one of very few places in Florida where all-inclusive still means what it says. Park the car when you arrive and you need not touch it again until you leave, which is rare in this state.

The water outside is a river, not the Atlantic, so beach days mean a drive. The terms have also shifted since the Club Med years, so read exactly what your rate includes before you book.

What you get

  • Three restaurants, meals in the rate
  • Two outdoor pools
  • Two bars on the grounds
  • Pool deck facing the river
  • Miami and Orlando within a drive

Is voco Sandpiper on the beach?

No, it sits on the St. Lucie River rather than the ocean. The nearest Atlantic beaches are on Hutchinson Island, a short drive to the east.

What is included at voco Sandpiper?
