JW Marriott Marco Island

  • Gulf beach
  • Sunsets
  • Several pools
  • Spa
  • Near the Everglades

A broad, pale beach that faces due west, so the whole resort turns towards the Gulf each evening to watch the sun go down.

In the early evening people drift from the pools down to the sand. The beach at Marco Island is wide and light, and it looks west across the Gulf of Mexico, which makes sunset the main event of the day.

The island sits south of Naples, where the coast begins to break up into mangroves at the edge of the Everglades. The JW Marriott keeps its pools, spa and restaurants together in one place, so days can be as lazy or as busy as you like.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose JW Marriott Marco Island

We chose it for a slow beach week on Florida’s quieter coast. The sand is excellent, the sunsets are reliable, and the Everglades give you a proper day out when lying by the pool starts to feel too easy.

This is a large resort, and during school holidays it can feel crowded at the pools and in the restaurants. If you want a small, intimate hotel, look elsewhere, or come outside the busy weeks.

Yes. The resort sits directly on a broad beach on the Gulf of Mexico, facing west, so you can watch the sunset from the sand without leaving the grounds.

How far is JW Marriott Marco Island from the Everglades?

It is a short drive. Marco Island lies where the mangrove coast begins, and boat tours and Everglades City are within easy reach for a day trip.

Is JW Marriott Marco Island busy?
