Bellanca Hotel
One of the newest hotels in Avalon, halfway along the seafront, with a roof terrace that looks down over the moored boats in the bay.
From the roof terrace the whole bay opens out: white boats on their moorings, the round Casino at the far end, the hills behind town. The Bellanca stands right in the middle of Crescent Avenue, with the restaurants at street level below.
Rooms are bright and up to date, which matters on an island where many hotels have changed little in decades. Several of them face the water, so ask for one if the view is why you came.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Bellanca Hotel
We like it for couples who want a polished, modern hotel in the middle of town. The service is smoother than at most Avalon inns, and evenings on the roof are hard to beat.
It is among the dearer options on the island, and a central seafront spot means street life below your window. If you are watching the budget, a quieter hotel a few streets back will do the job.
