Jumeirah Al Qasr
A wooden abra glides along the canal below your balcony, and the sail of the Burj Al Arab rises over the palms at the end of the beach.
The day here moves at the pace of the abras, the small wooden boats that carry guests along the waterways of Madinat Jumeirah. Al Qasr is the grandest building in the complex, built to look like a summer palace, with lanterns, arches and courtyards.
In front lies a long private beach facing the Gulf, with the Burj Al Arab close enough to fill the view. Behind it, Souk Madinat Jumeirah has restaurants and bars along the water, so you can spend a full evening without calling a taxi.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Jumeirah Al Qasr
We chose Al Qasr because it gives you two sides of Dubai in one stay: a proper beach resort by day and a walkable little town of canals, restaurants and bars at night. For a first visit, that is rare in a city built for cars.
It is big, formal and rarely cheap, and the decor leans heavily on gold and marble. If you want a small design hotel or the street life of Old Dubai around Al Fahidi and the Creek, you are a long taxi ride away here.

Open in MapsQuestions about Jumeirah Al Qasr
Is Jumeirah Al Qasr on the beach?
Yes. The hotel faces a long stretch of private beach on the Gulf, shared with the other Madinat Jumeirah hotels, with the Burj Al Arab in view.
Can you walk to Souk Madinat Jumeirah from Jumeirah Al Qasr?
Yes. The souk is part of the same complex, so you can walk or take one of the abra boats along the canals to its restaurants and shops.
Is Jumeirah Al Qasr good for a first trip to Dubai?
It works well as an easy, self-contained base with beach, dining and evenings out on site. Expect taxis for Downtown, the Dubai Mall and the old town by the Creek.
