Wymara Resort and Villas

  • Lower Bight
  • Modern design
  • Villas
  • Snorkelling
  • Good food

Glass, white surfaces and a long pool by the sea at the western tip of Grace Bay, with one of the best reefs for snorkelling close by.

Mask on, a few kicks from shore, and the reef is under you. Wymara stands where Grace Bay turns into Lower Bight, the name for its western stretch, and Smith's Reef is close enough to make snorkelling part of every day.

The architecture is clean and contemporary, all white planes and glass. A large pool runs along the beach, and the resort's villas sit a short distance to the east for those who want more privacy.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Wymara Resort and Villas

We picked Wymara for travellers who find the colonial look of Grace Bay a little dated. The design is sharp, the cooking has a good reputation, and the crowd tends to be younger.

You are at the far end of the bay, so most of the Grace Bay restaurants are a longer walk or a short taxi ride. If you want to step out of the lobby straight onto the busiest stretch of beach, choose somewhere more central.

What you get

  • Large pool by the beach
  • Separate villas a little further east
  • Snorkelling at Smith's Reef nearby
  • Good food on site
  • Modern architecture with lots of glass

Questions about Wymara Resort and Villas

Can you snorkel near Wymara Resort?

Yes. Smith's Reef, one of the island's best reefs to reach straight from the beach, is close to the resort at Lower Bight.

Is Wymara Resort far from the Grace Bay restaurants?

It is out on Lower Bight, so the main restaurant strip is a longer walk than from the central hotels. A short taxi ride solves it.

Does Wymara Resort have villas?

Yes. Alongside the main hotel, Wymara has separate villas a little further east, a good option for families or groups who want more space.
