The Palms Turks and Caicos
White colonial facades, rows of palms and a pool so large it feels like a lagoon, with room for children to run.
Children in the shallow end, parents with a book under the palms, and a reflecting pool turning pink at dusk. The Palms is built around water, with one of the biggest pools in Providenciales and several bars around its edge.
The buildings are white and colonial in style, the suites have plenty of room, and the spa is large. There are organised activities for children, which buys parents an hour or two on the sand.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Palms Turks and Caicos
This is our pick for families. Space is the point: big suites inside, a big pool outside and Grace Bay beyond it. Children have things to do, and adults still get a proper spa.
The resort is big, and from Christmas to Easter the loungers by the pool go early. If you want peace, go to the beach first thing, before most guests are up. Couples looking for intimacy will find smaller places along the bay.
