Sandals St. Vincent
Green mountains rise straight behind the bay, and the bill for dinner, drinks and a morning on the water has already been settled.
On the west coast, the hills of St Vincent come almost down to the water at Buccament Bay. Sandals has set its resort in that gap, so the view runs from steep green slopes on one side to open sea on the other.
Like the rest of the Sandals chain, it takes couples only. Meals, drinks and much of the activity programme are covered by the room rate, water sports included, and there are several pools and restaurants to move between.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Sandals St. Vincent
This is the place for couples who want a holiday without a running tab. You pay once and then choose between pools, restaurants and the sea, and the setting under the mountains feels wilder than many Caribbean resort strips.
Solo travellers and families cannot stay here, since only couples are accepted. It is also a large resort, so if you want something small and personal, or plan to eat out around the island, a smaller hotel will suit you better.
