Grenadine House
Look down from the garden and the whole of Kingstown is laid out below, along with the harbour where the ferry to Bequia leaves.
The road climbs out of the capital, and the noise of the traffic fades before you reach the gate. Grenadine House is set in an old building on the slopes above Kingstown, looking out over the rooftops to the harbour.
It is a small place, with a garden, a pool and a restaurant, and the mood is calm. Because the Bequia ferry sails from Kingstown, many guests use it for a night on either side of the crossing.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Grenadine House
We like Grenadine House for its sense of history and its position. You sleep in a quiet old house, yet the capital, its market and the ferry harbour lie just below the hill.
There is no beach here. Kingstown is a working port town rather than a holiday resort, so if sand and sea are the point of your trip, treat Grenadine House as a night or two on the way.
