Le Sereno
Walk out of a white, pared-back suite and straight into the shallow, sheltered water of the lagoon at Grand Cul-de-Sac on the east side of the island.
In the early morning the lagoon in front of Le Sereno lies flat as glass. A reef further out keeps the swell away, so the water by the beach stays shallow and calm enough to paddle out before breakfast.
The suites are done in white and natural tones, with little to distract from the sea. Meals are served at the restaurant by the water, and the atmosphere is so relaxed that many guests book the same week year after year.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Le Sereno
Le Sereno is our beach pick on St Barths. Few places let you go from bed to calm sea this easily, and it works as well for couples as for families with children.
The design is restrained, and those who want buzz and nightlife will find it too quiet. Gustavia and St-Jean are a drive away, so plan on a hire car or taxis for evenings out.
