Jumeirah Port Sóller Hotel & Spa
High on the cliff over Port de Sóller, with the horseshoe bay below one window and the Tramuntana mountains filling the other.
Late in the day the sun drops straight into the open sea beyond the mouth of the bay, and the pool terrace fills with people waiting for it. Port de Sóller curves below, a round harbour tucked under the north-west mountains.
The hotel is built low, in stone and wood, with plenty of space between guests. Rooms face either the water or the peaks, and the spa sits where the view follows you in. Down in the harbour, the old tram runs inland to Sóller.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Jumeirah Port Sóller Hotel & Spa
Large luxury hotels are rare on this stretch of coast, and this one gives you full service with the mountains as a backyard. It makes a comfortable base for Tramuntana walks and lazy spa days in between.
The cliff is the catch. It is a steep walk down to the harbour and back, so evenings in the port usually mean a taxi or the hotel shuttle. Families with young children will find it better suited to couples and friends.
