Rosewood Villa Magna
Trees and a small forecourt keep the traffic of the Castellana at arm's length, and inside the hotel everything goes quiet.
The broad Paseo de la Castellana runs past the front, yet you barely notice them. The hotel sits behind a screen of trees and a modest forecourt, and once the doors close the city recedes.
Inside it is light, contemporary and softly spoken. Bedrooms rank among the most generous in Madrid, and the designer shops of Calle Serrano and the rest of Salamanca are close by on foot.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Rosewood Villa Magna
We like it for calm and space. It suits a shopping weekend in Salamanca, a business trip with meetings on the Castellana, or anyone who simply wants a big, quiet room at the end of the day.
It is too far north for an evening of tapas on foot. If you want the old centre's bars and squares outside your door, you will spend a fair amount on taxis from here.
What you get
- Some of the largest rooms in Madrid
- Restaurant on site
- Tree-lined forecourt off the avenue
