Hotel Volcán Lanzarote
White houses, a little church and a square, with pools tucked in between and the masts of Marina Rubicón just beyond the gate.
You walk to breakfast across a square, past a church tower and whitewashed walls, and it takes a moment to remember this is a hotel. Volcán was built to look like a Canarian village, and the pools are set among the houses rather than in one large deck.
Outside the gate lies Marina Rubicón, east of Playa Blanca, with yachts, cafés and restaurants along the quay. On market days the harbour fills with stalls, and in the evening people drift between the boats looking for a table.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel Volcán Lanzarote
We like Volcán as a first stay on Lanzarote. It gives you the ease of a resort, but the marina next door means you have somewhere real to walk to for dinner, and the village layout feels calmer than a single block.
There is no sand right outside. Playa Dorada is reached on foot along the seafront, so this is a better fit for pool people than for anyone who wants to roll out of bed and onto the beach.
