Hotel Fariones
Palms between the rooms and the sand, the Atlantic just beyond, and the seafront promenade of Puerto del Carmen a few steps from the gate.
Lanzarote is black lava, white houses and wind, and Puerto del Carmen is where most visitors end up on the south-east coast. Hotel Fariones is one of the town's older names, set right by the beach with a green garden between the building and the sand.
The appeal is simple: swim in the morning, walk the long promenade later, and use the hotel as a calm base for day trips to the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya and the César Manrique sites around the island.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel Fariones
We like it for its position. Few hotels in Puerto del Carmen put the beach this close, and the town gives you restaurants and bars within walking distance without needing a car every evening.
Puerto del Carmen is a busy resort town, popular with package holidays, and it can feel crowded in high season. If you want the quiet, raw side of Lanzarote, look at the villages in the north or the wine region of La Geria.

Is Hotel Fariones on the beach?
Yes. The hotel sits right by the beach in Puerto del Carmen, with a garden between the building and the sand, so you can walk straight down for a swim.
Do you need a car at Hotel Fariones?
Not for the town itself, as restaurants and the promenade are on foot. To see Timanfaya, La Geria or the north of the island, renting a car for a day or two is the easiest option.
When is the best time to stay at Hotel Fariones?
Any time of year works on Lanzarote. Spring and autumn are warm and better value, while the Norwegian winter holidays and Christmas are the busiest and most expensive weeks.
