Picolo recommends · Hotel in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote
Barceló Teguise Beach
Windsurf sails flicking past offshore, a garden pool sheltered from the breeze, and evenings that end early and quietly.
On the east coast the wind is part of the day. You see it in the windsurfers out on the water and feel it on the seafront path, which is why the pools at Barceló Teguise Beach sit in a garden where the walls and plants take the edge off.
The hotel is for adults only, with modern rooms and an unhurried pace. Costa Teguise itself is a calmer resort than Puerto del Carmen, with fewer late bars and more people out walking the coast at sunrise.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Barceló Teguise Beach
We recommend it to couples and anyone travelling for rest rather than nightlife. It is quiet, grown-up and well placed for both the sea and the walking routes along the shore.
It is breezier here than in the south, and some days the wind will decide where you lie. If you want lively evenings and a big choice of restaurants, Puerto del Carmen is a better base.
