Hotel The Serras
Yachts bob in Port Vell just across the road, the Gothic Quarter starts at the back door, and the rooftop bar catches the sunset.
The Serras looks straight across Passeig de Colom to the masts of Port Vell, the old harbour. Turn around and the lanes of the Gothic Quarter begin right behind the building.
On the roof there is a small pool and a bar that gets busy as the light turns gold over the water. The hotel itself is small and personal, with a restaurant that takes its cooking seriously.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel The Serras
Few addresses in Barcelona give you the waterfront and the medieval lanes without a metro ride in between. Add a good restaurant and a rooftop at sunset, and it is an easy recommendation for couples.
It is not a beach hotel. Barceloneta beach is a pleasant walk along the water, but if you want to roll out of bed onto the sand, look at a hotel on the seafront.
What you get
