Tintswalo Atlantic
A lodge on its own by the Atlantic, inside the national park, where the suites stand on terraces and the surf breaks just under your feet.
The sea is the first thing you hear and the last. Tintswalo Atlantic sits on its own at the foot of Chapman's Peak, inside Table Mountain National Park, with nothing between the suites and the Atlantic but a few metres of rock.
Each suite opens onto a deck over the water. There is a pool facing the ocean, and in the colder months southern right whales sometimes pass close enough to see from your terrace.

Why we chose Tintswalo Atlantic
This is our pick for nature lovers. Few places near Cape Town let you sleep this close to the open ocean, and the setting inside the national park keeps it wild and quiet.
Getting there means a steep, twisting drive down, and there is no sand, only rock. You will need a car or transfers for everything else, so it suits a few days of rest more than a busy sightseeing trip.
What you get

No. The lodge is set on rocks by the sea, so there is no sandy beach. The ocean-facing pool is the place to swim.
Can you see whales from Tintswalo Atlantic?
In winter and early spring, whales sometimes pass along this stretch of coast, and with luck you can spot them from the decks.
Do you need a car at Tintswalo Atlantic?
Yes, or pre-booked transfers. The lodge is on its own below Chapman's Peak, and the road down is steep and winding.
