Pezula Nature Retreat
High on the cliffs beside the Knysna Heads, with a golf course, a nature reserve and long empty beaches far below your window.
Below the terrace the Indian Ocean breaks on sand that few people walk on, and behind you the forest runs inland. Pezula Nature Retreat occupies the high ground on the eastern side of the Knysna lagoon.
A golf course and a protected reserve surround the buildings, and the rooms are generous, facing either the water or the trees. Knysna town, with its waterfront and oysters, is a drive away rather than a walk.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Pezula Nature Retreat
We chose Pezula as a calm stop on a Garden Route road trip. After long days in the car you get space, quiet and a view, and the beach walks at low tide are a reason to stay a second night.
You will need a car. The hotel is outside town, so dinner at the Knysna waterfront means driving back up the hill afterwards. If you want restaurants on the doorstep, stay closer to the lagoon.
