Hotel Cubo
Dark colours, clean lines and tall windows, with the old town and the river a short stroll from the lobby.
Cubo is quiet in a deliberate way. The interior keeps to dark tones and simple shapes, and large windows let in the light, so the rooms feel calm after a day on the cobbles.
The hotel sits in the centre, a few minutes on foot from the old town and the Ljubljanica river. Ljubljana is compact, so you can leave the car and the taxi apps alone for the whole stay.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hotel Cubo
This is our design choice in Ljubljana. It is restrained rather than showy, and guests keep coming back to the same two points in their reviews: the staff are attentive and the breakfast is good.
Do not come for the facilities. There is no spa and no pool, so if you want a swim or a treatment at the end of the day, Grand Hotel Union or InterContinental will suit you better.
