Capella Singapore
Peacocks crossing the lawn in front of 1880s colonial buildings, on a forested hilltop above the sea on Sentosa.
A peacock steps across the lawn, and below the trees the sea glints through the rainforest. Capella occupies the top of a hill on Sentosa, where restored colonial buildings from the 1880s sit among the greenery.
Norman Foster added new wings that curve around the old houses, low enough to keep the trees in charge. The villas come with private pools, while the main pools step down the slope towards the water.

Why we chose Capella Singapore
For a honeymoon, an anniversary or a soft landing at the end of a long trip, few hotels in Singapore feel this removed from the city. The grounds and the sea view do the work.
It is expensive, and the city centre is a taxi ride away, so it suits a few slow days better than a busy sightseeing trip. Plan your evenings in town around transport.
