The Bristol Belgrade
A grand old façade on the slope down to the Sava, brought back to life as a hotel at the meeting point of old Belgrade and the new waterfront.
The tram rattles past, and behind the old stone façade the lobby is hushed. The Bristol occupies one of the classic buildings of Savamala, the district that runs down from the old town towards the Sava, and it has been restored as a luxury hotel.
Step outside and the river promenade is close, with Belgrade Waterfront and its new towers just along the bank. Uphill lie Knez Mihailova and the old town, so you have both faces of the city within reach.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose The Bristol Belgrade
The Bristol gives you a sense of Belgrade’s history without giving up modern comfort. It is our pick if you like grand old buildings and want to be between the river and the old town rather than in the middle of either.
Savamala is still changing, and parts of it can feel unfinished or noisy with traffic. The walk up to Knez Mihailova is uphill. If you want a quiet square in the old town itself, Square Nine is the calmer option.
