Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl
A hotel with an island to itself, where children can run between pools and sand while you watch the sea from the balcony.
The causeway brings you onto a small island where the hotel has the beach, the gardens and the pools all to itself. Inside, the lobby is built on a palace scale, with marble underfoot and gold catching the light.
Outside, there is real room to spread out, which is rare in Doha. Many rooms have a balcony looking over the water, and the pools give children plenty of choice through the day.

Why we chose Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl
This is our family pick. Space is the luxury here: a beach, several pools and grounds where children can roam, with The Pearl's marinas and cafés nearby for a change of scene.
The old town and the souk are far away, so plan on taxis and allow time for traffic. The décor is ornate and formal, which may feel heavy if you prefer a lighter Nordic touch.
What you get
