El Conquistador Resort
A resort perched on a cliff over the Caribbean, with water slides for the children and a boat to a private island beach for everyone.
From the top of the cliff the Caribbean spreads out in every direction, with sailing boats coming and going below. El Conquistador fills this headland on the east coast with boats in the marina, golf, water slides and a private beach.
The real draw is Palomino Island. Boats leave the marina for a beach reserved for hotel guests, and with eight restaurants back on the main site, you rarely have to plan where to eat.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose El Conquistador Resort
This is the resort we suggest to families. Children get water slides, parents get the sea view and a beach, and the trip to Palomino turns an ordinary day into a small adventure.
It is a very large place. Getting from your room to the pool or the marina can mean a long walk or a shuttle, so it suits those who want everything on site more than those who like small hotels.
