Condado Vanderbilt Hotel
A grand staircase and chandeliers on one side of the lobby, the Atlantic and Condado beach on the other.
Walk through the lobby, past the chandeliers and the sweeping staircase, and you come out to a pool, a row of cabanas and the sand of Condado. The building dates from 1919, and it still carries itself like the grand dame of the island.
Several restaurants and a spa mean you can stay in for a whole day. When you do go out, Ashford Avenue and the lagoon are on foot, and a quick taxi takes you to the colonial streets of Old San Juan.

Why we chose Condado Vanderbilt Hotel
It is our first choice in San Juan for an elegant stay. You get a century of history, a proper beach and a neighbourhood full of restaurants, without having to pick one over the others.
This is a classic hotel, and it is priced like one. If you want a party atmosphere or a casino, La Concha further along the beach is the livelier choice.
