Pestana Vintage Porto
Old merchant houses on the Ribeira quay, joined into one hotel, with the Douro and the port lodges of Gaia filling the window.
Open the shutters and the Douro is right there, with the rabelo boats moored below and the names of the port houses painted across the far bank. Pestana Vintage is a string of old façades on Praça da Ribeira, turned into a single hotel.
Behind the fronts, staircases and passages wind between the buildings at different heights, which is why each room has its own shape. The double-deck iron bridge is in view, and the old town climbs steeply behind you.

Why we chose Pestana Vintage Porto
You will not find a hotel closer to the scene everyone photographs in Porto. Stay here if you want the river as your view and the evening life of the quay as your soundtrack.
The quay is loud until late, and rooms differ a lot, from bright and river-facing to darker and smaller. Book a river view, pack light and expect steps: the old houses were not built for suitcases.
What you get

Do all rooms at Pestana Vintage Porto have a river view?
No. Some rooms face the river and others look inwards or onto side streets. Ask for a river-view room when you book if the view matters to you.
Is Pestana Vintage Porto suitable for people with limited mobility?
It can be demanding. The hotel is made up of several old buildings joined together, with steps and corridors at different levels, and the streets around the Ribeira are steep.
How do I get to Pestana Vintage Porto from the airport?
Take the metro towards the centre and change for São Bento, then walk downhill to the quay. A taxi takes you close, though the old town streets are narrow.
