Tivoli Carvoeiro
A clifftop hotel beside the sea-carved rocks of Algar Seco, with the village of Carvoeiro below and the boats to Benagil close at hand.
From the pool you look out over open sea, and just along the cliff the waves have carved the rock into arches and hollows. That is Algar Seco, and Tivoli Carvoeiro sits right beside it, on the cliffs a short walk from the village.
This is the stretch of coast most people picture when they think of the Algarve: ochre cliffs, small coves and sea caves. Boat trips to the famous cave at Benagil leave nearby, and Carvoeiro has a small square ringed with fish restaurants.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Tivoli Carvoeiro
For a first trip to the Algarve this is an easy call. You stay on the most dramatic part of the coast, close to a real village, with a spa and sea-view rooms. Couples and families both do well here.
The hotel is not on a beach. Carvoeiro's own beach is a short walk away, but that means a trip down into the village and back each time. If you want to step from your sunbed straight into the sea, choose elsewhere.

Boat trips to the Benagil cave leave from the coast close to Carvoeiro. Book an early departure, when the sea is usually calmer and fewer boats crowd into the cave.
Can you walk from Tivoli Carvoeiro to the village?
Yes. Carvoeiro, with its beach, square and restaurants, is a stroll from the hotel, so you can leave the car behind in the evening.
Is Tivoli Carvoeiro suitable for families?
