Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel
A tall glass atrium gathers lobby, bar and restaurant under one roof, and from the river-facing rooms you look across to the old wharves.
Daylight pours down through the glass roof, and the lobby, bar and dining room all share the same tall hall. It is the first thing you notice at Royal Garden, and it sets the tone for a hotel that likes to keep everything under one roof.
Ask for a room on the river side and you look straight over to the painted wharf houses of Bakklandet. You can swim and train without leaving the hotel, and the Old Town Bridge, Gamle Bybro, is only a few minutes away along Kjøpmannsgata.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel
We picked it as the easy first-timer's choice. It is one of the largest hotels in Trondheim, the staff are well used to visitors from all over, and everything you need, from the pool to dinner, works without effort.
Size has its price. The hotel can feel a little impersonal, and if you travel for local character and small, thoughtful details, a smaller place in Bakklandet or the grand old rooms of Britannia will suit you better.
