Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo
A luxury hotel tucked behind its own garden just above Place du Casino, with a pool deck that Karl Lagerfeld designed.
The cars and the crowds stay on the other side of the garden. By the time you reach the door of the Métropole, the noise of the square has dropped away, even though the casino is only a few minutes' walk down the hill.
Out the back, the Odyssey pool area carries the signature of Karl Lagerfeld, with a cool, graphic look that sets it apart from the gilt elsewhere in town. The kitchen has long been the reason many guests come back.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo
We like the Métropole for couples and anyone after the comforts of Monte-Carlo without living in the middle of them. The garden, the pool and the restaurants make it easy to spend a whole day on site.
Do not book it for the view. Most rooms look over the garden or the town rather than the sea, so if waking up to the Mediterranean matters, the Hermitage or the Fairmont will suit you better.

Does Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo have sea views?
Most rooms do not. The hotel faces its garden and the town, so choose it for calm and comfort rather than a view of the water.
Who designed the pool at Hôtel Métropole?
Karl Lagerfeld drew the Odyssey pool area, and its pale, graphic style is one of the things guests talk about most.
Is Hôtel Métropole close to the Monte-Carlo casino?
