Picolo recommends · Hotel in Le Morne, Mauritius
Dinarobin Beachcomber
A long white beach at the foot of Le Morne, the basalt mountain that rises straight out of the south-west corner of the island.
Le Morne fills the view from almost everywhere at Dinarobin. The mountain rises steep and dark behind the hotel, and in the evening its shadow stretches across the sand as the sky turns orange over the sea.
Every room here is a suite, which gives a sense of space that larger resorts rarely manage. The beach is long, white and rarely crowded, and guests can also use the restaurants and golf course at the sister hotel next door.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Dinarobin Beachcomber
We chose Dinarobin for space and scenery. Suites throughout, a beach with room to spread out and one of the island's most striking mountains as a backdrop make it an easy place to slow down.
The south-west catches the wind in the southern winter, so June to September can feel breezy on the beach. It is also some way from the shops and restaurants of Grand Baie and the north, so plan on eating mostly at the hotel.
