Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
Draw the curtains and the Petronas Towers fill the window, with the green of KLCC Park spread out below.
Early in the morning the park below is full of joggers and the twin towers catch the first sun. Mandarin Oriental stands on the edge of KLCC Park, and a good share of its rooms look across at the Petronas Towers.
The pool looks out over the treetops, and there is a big spa plus a choice of restaurants inside the building. The Suria KLCC shopping centre at the foot of the towers is a few minutes away on foot.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
This is our first choice in the city because the location does so much of the work. You wake up to the skyline everyone comes to see, and the park gives you somewhere green to walk before the heat arrives.
KLCC is polished but can feel like a business district at night. If you want street food and older neighbourhoods on your doorstep, Bukit Bintang or Chinatown will suit you better, and you will be taking taxis to reach them.
