Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

  • Tanjung Rhu
  • Beachfront
  • Private pools
  • Garden villas
  • Kilim mangroves

White sand at low tide, limestone islets rising from the water and a pavilion of your own behind the trees at Tanjung Rhu.

Step off the path at Tanjung Rhu and the beach runs on and on, pale sand facing a scatter of steep limestone islands. Four Seasons has this stretch of the north coast largely to itself, which is the main reason to come.

Pavilions and villas are set apart from one another in mature gardens, and a number come with a plunge pool. The mood is quiet and unhurried, more about swimming, reading and long lunches than ticking off sights.

Picolo’s verdict

Why we chose Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

If the beach matters most, this is the one we would book on Langkawi. You get some of the best sand on the island, room to breathe between the buildings and the Kilim mangroves within easy reach by boat.

Tanjung Rhu is a long drive from Pantai Cenang and its restaurants and bars, so you will eat most meals at the resort, at resort prices. Travellers who want to wander out to street food in the evening should look elsewhere.

What you get

  • Long sandy beach at Tanjung Rhu
  • Villas, several with their own pool
  • Large tropical garden
  • Restaurants on site
  • Boat trips to the Kilim mangroves nearby
