Mövenpick Resort Petra

  • By the entrance
  • Courtyard
  • Rooftop bar
  • Wadi Musa
  • Petra by Night

After a long day among the rock tombs, the walk back is short: the hotel stands right at the gate to Petra, a couple of minutes from the ticket office.

Dust on your boots, legs heavy from the climb, and the lobby is right there. Few hotels in Wadi Musa, the town that serves Petra, put you this close to the gate, and after a day in the ruins that matters more than anything else.

Inside, the courtyard is built in an Arabic style, with arches and lanterns. Upstairs there is a terrace with a bar on the roof, a good place to sit once the sun has gone and the hills cool down.

Why we chose Mövenpick Resort Petra

We picked it for the location. You can be at the ticket office before the tour groups arrive, slip back for a rest at midday and head out again in the late afternoon, without a taxi or a long uphill walk.

The rooms are classic in style and on the plain side. They are clean and quiet, but if you want a modern, design-led room, look elsewhere. You are paying for the address, not the décor.

What you get
