Hotel de Russie
A grand hotel off Piazza del Popolo whose terraced garden of orange trees rises up the slope towards the Pincio.
Hotel de Russie sits on Via del Babuino, steps from Piazza del Popolo at the northern edge of the historic centre. Behind the building, a garden of terraces, citrus trees and paths climbs towards the Pincio, the hill above the square.
Breakfast is served outdoors when the weather allows, and by early evening the garden bar fills with Romans dropping in for an aperitivo. Rooms are light and modern, a calm contrast to the baroque churches outside.

Why we chose Hotel de Russie
This is our family pick in Rome. The hotel is large enough for children not to feel out of place, the garden gives everyone space to breathe, and the Villa Borghese park is just up the hill.
It sits at the top end of the price scale, and the square marks the northern edge of the centre. Allow around a quarter of an hour on foot to the Pantheon and longer to the Colosseum.
