Grand Hotel Parker's
High on the hill above Chiaia, with antiques in the corridors and the whole curve of the bay laid out beneath the roof terrace.
Stand on the roof terrace at dusk and the city drops away below you, from the palazzi of Chiaia down to the sea and round to Vesuvius. The noise of Naples reaches you as a faint hum rather than a roar.
Parker's is one of the old names of Naples, a hotel of antiques, polished wood and a proper library. It sits on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the long road that winds across the hillside, so the views come with a little distance from the street life.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Grand Hotel Parker's
We chose it for the view and the calm. Few places let you see the whole bay from your room and still have elegant Chiaia just below. Couples and travellers who like a traditional hotel with character will find it worth the climb.
You pay for the view with the hill. Getting to the old town or the seafront usually means a taxi or a ride on the funicular, so it is not ideal if you want to drift in and out of the centre on foot all day.
What you get
- Roof terrace over the bay
- Library and antiques throughout
- Sea views from many rooms
- Classic, traditional service
- Taxi or funicular to the centre

- A quiet hour with a book in the library.
