Eurostars Hotel Excelsior
An old seafront grand hotel on Via Partenope, where the car-free promenade outside has room for a pushchair, a scooter and an ice cream.
Children run ahead along the promenade while the boats bob in Borgo Marinari and Castel dell'Ovo looms over the water. Behind you, the old facade of the Excelsior is one of the grand hotels that has lined Via Partenope for generations.
Many rooms look out over the bay, and inside you will find a terrace, a gym, a bar and a restaurant. Piazza del Plebiscito and the shops of Via Toledo are a stroll away, so you can mix city sights with time by the sea.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Eurostars Hotel Excelsior
We chose it as our family pick. The traffic-free seafront gives children space to move, the main sights of central Naples are within reach on foot, and couples who want classic style with a sea view will be happy here too.
Breakfast is not included on every rate, so check before you book. Rooms facing the street are noisier than those on the sea side, and the difference in experience is big enough that it is worth asking for a sea view.
