Casa Angelina
An all-white hotel on the cliff at Praiano, with coloured glass art on the walls and Positano and Capri across the water.
Everything at Casa Angelina is white, from the walls to the furniture, so the blue of the sea does all the work. Pieces of glass art add colour, and the view runs west to Positano and out to Capri.
Steps lead down the cliff to a private place to swim, and there is a pool above. Praiano itself is a small, quiet village between Positano and Amalfi, with far fewer day trippers.

Picolo’s verdict
Why we chose Casa Angelina
It is our design choice on the coast and the obvious alternative for anyone tired of antiques and frescoes. Couples looking for calm, clean lines and a big view will feel at home here.
Praiano is quiet, which is the point, but it means dinner in Positano or Amalfi needs a boat or the bus. If you want to walk out to busy lanes and restaurants every night, choose a hotel in town.
